South Delhi Superstars Clinch Women's Delhi Premier League 2025 Title in Thrilling Final

The thrilling final match of the Women's Delhi Premier League 2025 was played between South Delhi Superstars and Central Delhi Queens. In this hard-fought contest, the Superstars team won by just 1 run and clinched the title.

In this exciting match played between South Delhi Superstars and Central Delhi Queens, the Superstars team won by a mere 1 run to take home the title. This low-scoring but high-tension match kept the spectators glued to their seats until the very last ball.

South Delhi Superstars scored 121 runs batting first

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, South Delhi Superstars had a balanced start. For the team, captain Shweta Sehrawat scored the highest with 34 runs. In her 24-ball innings, she hit 2 fours and 2 sixes. Besides her, Tanisha Singh scored 28 runs off 23 balls, and opener Shivi Sharma contributed 29 runs. Thanks to these important innings, the team managed to reach 121 runs.

The bowlers of Central Delhi Queens also performed brilliantly. Nidhi Mahto, Priya Mishra, and Sachi took two wickets each and prevented the Superstars from scoring a big total.

Poor start for Central Delhi Queens

Chasing the target of 121 runs, Central Delhi Queens had a disappointing start. Opener Sonia Khatri was dismissed for just 1 run off Disha Nagar's ball. After this, Diksha Sharma (23 runs) and Sachi (17 runs) tried to steady the team, but they could not play a long innings. The highest innings for the Queens was played by Monica. She scored 33 runs off 28 balls, including 2 fours and 1 six. 

Meanwhile, captain Soni Yadav was dismissed for just 6 runs, and Nidhi Mahto also could not contribute more than 2 runs. In the end, Riya Shaukeen did score 28 runs, but she could not take the team to victory. After the stipulated 20 overs, Central Delhi Queens could only score 120 runs for the loss of 8 wickets and lost the match by 1 run.

Excellent performance by the bowlers

The bowlers played a key role in South Delhi Superstars' victory. Medhavi Bidhuri took 3 important wickets, conceding 26 runs in 3 overs. Besides her, Himkashi Choudhary bowled economically and took 2 wickets, giving away just 18 runs in 4 overs. Meanwhile, Disha Nagar, Shweta Sehrawat, and Tanisha Singh took 1 wicket each.

Due to the accurate line and length and pressure tactics of these bowlers, the batsmen of Central Delhi Queens could not play big innings, and the team had to face a crushing defeat.
