SpaceX Eyes $800 Billion Valuation with Insider Share Sale, Poised to Overtake OpenAI

SpaceX is preparing an insider share sale that could skyrocket its valuation to $800 billion, potentially making it the world's most valuable private company, surpassing OpenAI, ahead of its anticipated 2026 IPO.

Elon Musk's space transportation and satellite manufacturing company, SpaceX, is preparing to sell its insider shares, which could push its valuation above $500 billion.

BUSINESS NEWS: Elon Musk's space technology company, SpaceX, is now preparing to enter the stock market after becoming one of the world's most valuable private companies. According to market sources, SpaceX's Initial Public Offering (IPO) could arrive by the end of 2026. Before that, the company is working on a plan to further elevate its valuation through the sale of its insider shares.

According to reports, SpaceX will allow its existing investors and employees to sell their stakes through the sale of insider shares. This move could increase the company's valuation from $500 billion to between $750 billion and $800 billion. If this happens, SpaceX could become the world's most valuable private company.

Insider Share Sale to Boost Valuation

According to a Bloomberg report, SpaceX is considering offering some of its existing shareholders the opportunity to sell shares privately. This process is called a tender offer, where the company deals not directly with the general public, but with a limited number of investors. Sources indicate that the potential share price this time could exceed $400 per share.

If this price is set, the company's total valuation could reach between $750 billion and $800 billion. This figure is nearly double the valuation from the previous funding round in July 2024, when SpaceX achieved a valuation of approximately $400 billion at $212 per share.

SpaceX Prepares to Overtake OpenAI

According to the report, SpaceX's Board of Directors held an important meeting at the Starbase hub in Texas, where they discussed the insider share sale and future capital-raising strategies. However, the company has not yet made any official announcement regarding an IPO or share sale. Experts believe that SpaceX aims to maximize its valuation before gradually entering the public market, to ensure substantial gains at the time of the IPO.

If SpaceX's valuation approaches $800 billion, it could surpass OpenAI to become the world's most valuable private company. It is noteworthy that OpenAI set this record in October 2024 with a valuation of approximately $500 billion. After OpenAI, investors' attention is now fully focused on SpaceX, which is not only a leader in rocket launch services but is also establishing a b foothold in the global telecom market through its Starlink satellite internet service.

SpaceX's Earnings and Future Plans

A significant portion of SpaceX's revenue comes from two main areas—

  • Falcon and Starship launch programs,
  • Starlink satellite internet service.

Starlink is already providing its services in several countries across America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, generating regular revenue for the company. Experts believe that in the coming years, Starlink could become SpaceX's largest source of income, which will attract investors at the time of its IPO.
