Incident Location: Late Monday night, an encounter took place between a police team and criminals near Pakhrauli railway crossing in the Dehat Kotwali area of Sultanpur district.
Incident Details: The Kotwali SHO (Station House Officer) was conducting a checking operation with his team when three suspicious youths on a motorcycle were spotted. Upon seeing the police, they began to flee.
During the chase, their motorcycle skidded and fell. After falling, the accused started firing at the police. The police also fired in retaliation, resulting in one criminal being shot in the leg.
The police arrested all three and recovered weapons from their possession.
The arrested individuals were identified as Mukesh, son of Ramdaur, a resident of Firozpur Shahpur, Jalaalpur police station, Ambedkar Nagar; Lalu, son of Mahendra Raj; and Chhotu, son of Sanjay. Both Lalu and Chhotu are also residents of the same area. According to the police, all three have several criminal cases registered against them and
possess a long criminal history.
