Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker has expressed her outrage over the incident of murder of Yogendra Singh, a 35-year-old sevadar (caretaker), at Delhi's Kalkaji temple. The actress commented on her X (formerly Twitter) account, sharing the CCTV footage related to this violent incident, stating that "We have become completely cruel and like demons."

This Heart-Wrenching Incident

The incident occurred late Friday night when a dispute over the distribution of prasad (offering) at the temple took a violent turn. Yogendra Singh, who had served at the temple for approximately 15 years, allegedly refused the attackers' demand by stating that the prasad had run out. Following this, the accused dragged Singh outside and beat him mercilessly with sticks and fists until he became unconscious. The scene of this violence was captured on CCTV cameras, which Swara Bhasker later shared.

Swara wrote along with the video, "This is extremely horrific and dangerous. Lynching has become commonplace in India. It is shameful and concerning for our society. We have become completely cruel and like demons."

This time, she has bly reacted to the murder of the Kalkaji temple sevadar and described the incident as a symbol of growing violence in society. The police began an investigation immediately after the incident and have arrested five people so far. The main accused, Atul Pandey, was apprehended at the scene by locals and handed over to the police. The arrest of four other accused has also been confirmed. The police stated that all arrested accused are being interrogated rigorously, and further legal action will be taken.
