Tamil Nadu Politics: All political parties have intensified their preparations for the assembly elections to be held next year in Tamil Nadu. South Indian film superstar Thalapathy Vijay has formed his party TVK and announced his intention to contest the 2026 assembly elections. Vijay periodically targets the ruling DMK party in the state and the BJP (NDA) which is in power at the center.
Annamalai's Allegation
Tamil Nadu BJP's prominent leader Annamalai launched a b attack on Thalapathy Vijay. He stated that "Actor-politician Vijay cannot call his party TVK an alternative to DMK. He is politically active only on weekends. Politics requires twenty-four-hour dedication." Annamalai further added that BJP leaders remain active throughout the year and continuously work among the public.
Activity of BJP and Other Parties
Annamalai informed reporters that BJP leaders and workers are constantly in the field. Additionally, AIADMK leader Palaniswami is also active across the state and addressing rallies in various districts. He asserted that since Vijay is only active on weekends, his party cannot be a precise alternative to the DMK.
Vijay's Entry into Politics
Thalapathy Vijay has entered politics through his party TVK. His objective is to provide a new direction and option for the public. Vijay continuously highlights public issues through social media and public platforms. Political analysts believe that winning elections solely on the basis of stardom and popularity is not easy.
