According to sources, the objective of the meeting was to ensure the smooth functioning of the Trust's daily activities.

Two Factions within the Trust

Currently, Tata Trust is divided into two factions. The first faction is with Noel Tata. Noel Tata was appointed Chairman of the Trust after the demise of Ratan Tata. The second faction is led by the Shapoorji Pallonji family, which includes four trustees and is led by Mehli Mistry.

The Shapoorji Pallonji family holds approximately 18.37 percent stake in Tata Sons. According to sources, Mehli Mistry feels that he has been excluded from important matters. The main cause of the dispute is appointments to the board of directors of Tata Sons and administrative powers.

Meeting with Union Ministers on Tuesday

The leadership team of Tata Trust met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday. During this meeting, the main focus of discussion was on the Trust's activities and financial matters. Following this meeting, the Trust's board held its regular meeting on Friday, focusing on daily operations and development projects while avoiding controversial topics.

Trust's Social and Financial Activities

The meeting reviewed Tata Trust's hospitals, educational institutions, and rural development projects. Additionally, the Trust's financial proposals were discussed.
