RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav fiercely criticizes the Bihar government for allegedly transferring money to women's accounts during the 2025 Assembly Elections, calling it open bribing and questioning the Election Commission'

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has raised serious questions against the Election Commission, accusing the government of violating the Model Code of Conduct. Speaking to reporters in Patna on Thursday (October 30), he stated that money is still being transferred to the accounts of 10 lakh women by the government today.

Patna: Amidst the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, political activity is at its peak. This time, a major accusation has become the center of electoral debate — the government transferring money into voters' accounts during the elections. RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav raised serious questions against the Election Commission of India while speaking to reporters in Patna on Thursday (October 30).

Tejashwi stated that during the electoral process, the government is depositing Rs 10,000 each into the accounts of women, which goes against the spirit of democracy and fair elections. He questioned, "Where has the Election Commission's morality gone? What kind of emergency has arisen that work which wasn't done for 20 years is now being carried out amidst the elections?"

Government is Openly Bribing — Tejashwi Yadav

Tejashwi Yadav alleged that the state government is openly bribing the public. He stated that on October 24, sums were transferred to the accounts of millions of women, and the same was done again on October 30. "This is a loan that the government will later recover with interest. The Election Commission remains silent, even though this is a clear violation of the Model Code of Conduct," Tejashwi said.

He further added that such activities cast doubts on the transparency of the democratic process. He contended that providing financial benefits to voters in this manner during elections is an attempt to influence votes.

Bihar will be Run by its Own Son

During the conversation, Tejashwi Yadav also retorted to Union Home Minister Amit Shah's recent statement. Amit Shah had said that a major problem in setting up industries and factories in Bihar is the shortage of land. Tejashwi, tauntingly, remarked,

'These people only want to set up factories in Gujarat and merely take votes from Bihar. The people of Bihar have now woken up and will teach them a lesson. Bihar will not be run by any outsider, but by its own son.'

He alleged that the central government merely wants to use Bihar politically, while no concrete work is being done in the name of development.

Response to Owaisi's Statement

When asked by reporters about Owaisi's statement that “Muslims should not vote for any party,” Tejashwi Yadav said, "We are not against any religion or class. We only talk about Bihar's development. Our goal is to advance Bihar. This is an opportunity to give Bihar a new direction. If the NDA returns to power, Bihar will fall further behind."

The 2025 Bihar Assembly Election is considered special for several reasons this time. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has entered the electoral fray, making youth, unemployment, education, and health key issues. Meanwhile, the NDA government is highlighting its development works and women's empowerment schemes.
