Three officials associated with Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) in Uttar Pradesh have been dismissed from service after an investigation found they had allegedly secured employment using forged documents and incorrect information, according to officials.

The three officers were recruited at different times and had been serving in the department for nearly 22 years. They had been posted in Prayagraj, Lucknow and Mirzapur.

A departmental inquiry was initiated after the matter surfaced. Action was taken against the officials after irregularities were found during scrutiny of documents and service records.

According to Uttar Pradesh government officials, the investigation revealed irregularities in educational certificates, the appointment process and reservation-related documents. Orders were subsequently issued to remove all three officials from service with immediate effect.

Officials said the matter had been pending for a considerable period. Investigation agencies submitted their reports to the department following complaints and document verification.

The Technical Education Department stated that no irregularities in the recruitment process would be tolerated and indicated that older appointment records may also be reviewed.

The dismissal of the officials after nearly 22 years of service has triggered discussions within the department, with employees discussing the action.

Legal experts said that if the use of forged documents in a government job is proven, an appointment can be cancelled despite long years of service. In such cases, salaries and other benefits may also be examined.

Following an order issued from the Lucknow headquarters, administrative procedures have been initiated at the concerned institutions. The department is also preparing to fill the vacant positions at the departmental level.

The action has also sparked debate on social media, with many users demanding transparency in recruitment processes and periodic document verification.

Uttar Pradesh Police and the concerned investigation agencies may also examine whether other individuals were involved in preparing forged documents or negligence during verification.

Government sources said scrutiny of old appointment records in other departments could also be intensified in the future to enable stricter action against alleged fraud cases.
