A horrifying incident occurred on Monday night in Jamalpur village, Akhandnagar area of Sultanpur. Three children — Arushi (15), Ananya (11), and Shreyansh (5) — were sleeping under a mosquito net. Around 11 PM, a venomous snake
climbed onto their bed and bit Arushi and Shreyansh.
Immediately after the incident, the family took the children to a private hospital in Shahganj, Jaunpur. There, Shreyansh succumbed. Arushi passed away around 9 AM on Tuesday morning while being transported to the Jaunpur District Hospital.
Ananya, who was sleeping in the middle, survived the ordeal. The bodies of both deceased children were brought to the Akhandnagar Community Health Center. Police registered a case for post-mortem examination. Station Officer Deepak Kushwaha stated that an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Upon receiving news of the incident, a check for ₹8 lakh in aid was handed over to Rekha Devi, the mother of the deceased children, by Cabinet Minister Omprakash Rajbhar.
