Sultanpur district was thrown into turmoil on Sunday night when the driver and helper of a truck parked along the Tanda-Banda National Highway were attacked by a group of individuals. Reports indicate that the two were having tea when the assailants arrived in a four-wheeler, verbally abused them, and then brutally beat them with sticks, rods, and other blunt objects.
The truck driver and his assistant sustained serious injuries in the attack. Upon receiving information from locals, the police arrived at the scene and rushed both injured individuals to the hospital for treatment. Following the incident, police from the Semri Police Chowki and Jaisinghpur Kotwali have initiated an investigation.
Police state that a case has been registered based on the complaint filed, and efforts are underway to identify the accused. Arrests are expected to be made soon. The incident has created an atmosphere of fear in the area.
