Trump Claims He Prevented India-Pakistan War, India Denies; Discusses Russia-Ukraine Conflict

US President Donald Trump claimed he prevented a potential war between India and Pakistan. India denied it. Trump also made a statement on Russia-Ukraine.

Trump: US President Donald Trump, wearing a red cap with "Right About Everything" written on it in the Oval Office of the White House, claimed that he had prevented a potential nuclear war between India and Pakistan. Trump said that the situation at that time was extremely dangerous and both countries were moving towards a major nuclear conflict. He insisted that this conflict did not happen because of his intervention and a ceasefire between the two countries was possible.

India Denies Trump's Claim

The Government of India has repeatedly denied Trump's claim. New Delhi has clarified that the ceasefire decision between India and Pakistan was not due to any foreign mediation, but was decided through discussions between the two armies at the DGMO (Director Generals of Military Operations) level. India also said that Pakistan had to accept the ceasefire only after suffering heavy losses in Operation Sindoor. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made it clear in Parliament that India played a complete role in this decision and no foreign leader had any role.

Trump's Persistent Claim

Trump first wrote on social media on May 10 that Washington had brokered a "complete and immediate" ceasefire between India and Pakistan. He said that this was after a long night of negotiations. Since then, Trump has publicly repeated more than 40 times that he reduced tensions between the two countries and prevented a nuclear war.

Trump's Opinion on the Russia-Ukraine War

Apart from the India-Pakistan claims, Trump also expressed his opinion on the Russia-Ukraine war. He said that in the next two weeks, America is going to take a big and important decision. According to him, this decision may be to impose heavy sanctions or tariffs on Russia. At the same time, he indicated that America may completely distance itself from this war and say that it is not their fight, but Ukraine's fight.

Claim to Arrange Putin-Zelensky Meeting

Trump also said that he wants to arrange a face-to-face meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He believes that it is necessary for both leaders to sit together to end the war. Trump said, "It takes two to tango, if both do not meet, then my efforts will be meaningless."

Trump's Claims of Stopping Wars

On this occasion, Trump also claimed that he has ended seven wars so far and has played a role in preventing three wars that were about to start. Overall, according to him, he has played a role in ten wars. However, he did not clarify which wars he was referring to.
