Donald Trump Claimed He Prevented India-Pak Conflict; India Refuted It, Calling Pakistan-Sponsored Terrorism the Real Threat.
Trump India Pak Claim: US President Donald Trump has claimed that he prevented a war-like situation between India and Pakistan. He said that the conflict between the two countries could have escalated into a nuclear war, but he intervened and brought the situation under control. However, India has completely rejected this claim and stated that cross-border terrorism is rooted in Pakistan, which India is committed to tackling.
Trump's Big Claim at the White House
President Donald Trump made this claim at a public event in America, stating that he prevented the recent military conflict between India and Pakistan. According to Trump, "Tensions between India and Pakistan had escalated significantly. Five jets were shot down, and both countries were constantly attacking each other. This conflict could have turned into a nuclear war at any moment. I called the leaders of both countries and warned them."
'No Trade' Threat Convinced Both Countries
Trump stated that he warned India and Pakistan that he would stop trade between them. He said, "I made it clear that if this continued, we would stop trade, and the situation could become very bad." Trump also claimed that the situation improved and the war was averted due to his intervention.
Saved Several Countries From War
Besides India and Pakistan, Trump also mentioned countries like Congo-Rwanda and Kosovo-Serbia. He said, "Because of me, there was no war in these countries. Iran's nuclear power was also eliminated."
Trump, Attacking Biden, Said
President Trump taunted former President Joe Biden, saying, "Could Biden have done this? I don't think so. Does he even know the names of these countries? I don't think so."
US Ambassador to the UN Also Echoed Trump's Claim
The US Ambassador to the United Nations Security Council, Dorothy Shea, also echoed Trump's claim. She said that the United States played a vital role in reducing tensions between India-Pakistan, Israel-Iran, and Congo-Rwanda. Dorothy Shea said, "Under President Trump's leadership, the United States encouraged the leaders of these countries to engage in dialogue and helped them avoid violence."
India Retaliated, Calling it a Factually Incorrect Statement
India has completely rejected Trump's claim. India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Parvathaneni Harish, responding to Trump's claims at the same UN meeting, said, "Supporting cross-border terrorism is against the spirit of neighborliness and will have serious consequences."
Harish also said that the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam is proof that terrorist organizations operating from Pakistani soil are still receiving support. He said that India is ready to take every step to protect its citizens.
Cross-Border Terrorism is the Real Challenge: India
India's stance is clear: the biggest challenge between India and Pakistan is terrorist infiltration and violence from across the border. India says that until Pakistan stops supporting terrorism from its soil, the process of dialogue or peace cannot move forward.
