Udaipur: A major accident was averted late Monday night in the Udaipur district of Rajasthan. Two youths got trapped in a jeep caught in the b current at the Nandvel bridge in Dabok. Upon receiving the information, the Civil Defence team reached the spot and safely rescued both youths with the help of a hydraulic crane. This incident further underscores the seriousness of the floods and b currents in rivers and drains caused by the rains in Udaipur and surrounding areas.

Jeep Trapped in Strong Current in Udaipur
Around 10:30 PM on Monday night, two youths attempted to cross the Dabok Nandvel bridge in a jeep despite the b current. During this, the vehicle got trapped in the current, and the youths could not get out. Locals witnessed the scene and immediately informed the Civil Defence department.
Udaipur and its surrounding areas have been submerged due to recent heavy rainfall. The b currents have made the bridge and the road dangerous. Driving in such conditions can be life-threatening. The local administration had previously issued warnings to avoid such incidents.
Jeep Rescued with Hydraulic Crane
Upon receiving the information, the Civil Defence team from Udaipur reached the spot and found two youths trapped in the jeep. A rescue operation was immediately launched. The team used a hydraulic crane to pull the jeep out of the current and safely transported both youths to a secure location.
The rescue operation involved Vijay Nakwal, Vipul Choudhary, Kapil Salvi, Sachin Kandara, Dinesh Gameti, and driver Prakash Rathore. Their promptness and skill averted a major tragedy. The administration appreciated the team's efforts and conveyed a message to remain vigilant to avoid such incidents in the future.
Identification of Youths Trapped in Strong Current
The trapped youths have been identified as Vikram Singh, son of Nirbhay Singh, and Kanha Singh, son of Manohar Singh, both residents of Kanod. Both are safe, and their health condition is reported to be normal. Local residents stated that the incident could have proven fatal if timely action had not been taken.
The local administration has increased vigilance around the bridge and the surrounding areas. People have been urged not to drive near rivers and drains and not to let children go out alone. Such incidents can be common during the monsoon season, making caution essential.
