The Ukrainian army has deployed these vehicles on the front lines. Shortage of Soldiers and the Need for Robotic Vehicles

Ukraine is facing a shortage of soldiers in the war. In the conflict that has been ongoing for the past three years, thousands of Ukrainian soldiers have been killed, and a large number of people have migrated. In such a situation, robotic vehicles have become an important tool. By using these vehicles, essential tasks can be carried out without directly exposing soldiers to danger.

'Robots on wheels' resemble small tanks and can be controlled remotely. These vehicles can enter dangerous areas to perform tasks such as clearing landmines or safely extracting soldiers. By using them, the Ukrainian army can not only save soldiers' lives but also gain strategic advantages during wartime.

Robotic Vehicles Cannot Completely Replace Soldiers

Although these vehicles can perform many tasks, they cannot completely replace soldiers. A platoon commander from the 20th Liubart Brigade, known as 'Miami,' stated that some missions can only be carried out by humans. These include laying mines, conducting reconnaissance in enemy territory, and sniper deployment.

The commander emphasized that while robotic vehicles are extremely useful, the human role is essential for complex and sensitive missions. Robotic vehicles can assist soldiers and reduce risk, but they cannot assume full responsibility.

How Important Are Robotic Vehicles for Ukrainian Soldiers?

These vehicles, manufactured by Ukrainian companies, are available at prices ranging from $1,000 to $64,000 USD, depending on their size and capabilities. Their deployment enhances soldier safety, and maintenance is also easier since they are produced domestically.

These vehicles are primarily used on the front lines. This reduces risks to soldiers and allows missions to be completed on time and safely. Being domestically produced, their cost is also lower, and production can be scaled up as needed.

Robotic Vehicles Possessed by Russia

Robotic vehicles are not a new technology in warfare. During World War II, Germany used remote-controlled miniature tanks known as Goliaths. Russia still utilizes these technologies today.

Russia possesses a combat robotic vehicle called Uran-9, which is equipped with machine guns, anti-tank missiles, and grenade launchers. Additionally, Russia has a small unmanned ground vehicle named Nerekhta, used for gathering intelligence, transporting weapons, and conducting attacks in the battlefield.

Furthermore, there is a multi-functional robotic vehicle called Soratnik. It is deployed for reconnaissance missions, escorting, and combat operations. These robotic vehicles provide the Russian army with a strategic advantage during war and ensure the safety of soldiers.
