The monsoon's pace is gradually slowing down across the country, bringing relief from rain to North India. However, the humid heat during this period continues to be a source of discomfort for people. The Meteorological Department has issued varied weather forecasts for several states for September 23.
Weather Update: The monsoon's momentum is now subsiding across the country. People from Bihar, UP, Delhi, and Punjab to Kashmir are starting to get relief from rain. However, temperatures in several states are again rising above 35 degrees Celsius, making the humid heat in Delhi a nuisance for residents. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has also issued a warning for heavy rainfall in some states, advising people to take precautions.
Weather Situation in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh
Delhi residents are likely to get relief from rain for the next three days. Temperatures will range between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius, and humid heat may bother people. The water level of the Yamuna is also rapidly receding, reducing the chances of floods in low-lying areas. The weather in Delhi is expected to remain clear and warm until Dussehra.
All districts in Uttar Pradesh have been placed in the green zone. This means there is no possibility of rain in any part of the state today. However, due to humidity and rising temperatures, people will not get relief from the heat. In August, the state experienced heavy rainfall, and flood-like situations developed in many areas.
Heavy Rain Alert in Bihar and Jharkhand
Today, the weather in Bihar's Patna, Nawada, Jehanabad, Begusarai, Siwan, Saran, Bhojpur, Darbhanga, and Samastipur districts will remain hot and dry. No rain is expected. The Meteorological Department predicts clear weather in Bihar around Dussehra. Heavy rainfall is likely in Jharkhand's Saraikela, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega, and Hazaribagh districts.
The Meteorological Department has appealed for vigilance in these districts. Officials state that people should take necessary precautions to protect themselves from sudden rain and flood-like situations in these areas.
Possibility of Light Rain in Madhya Pradesh
The Meteorological Department has predicted cloudy skies and a possibility of light drizzle in Madhya Pradesh. However, normal activities will not be affected in most parts of the state. People have been advised to stay alert and pay attention to local weather information. No warnings have been issued for Uttarakhand. All districts have been placed in the green zone, meaning there is no possibility of severe rainfall anywhere. However, more than 50 people lost their lives due to cloudbursts in the state recently, so the administration has issued instructions to remain vigilant.
