A new district named ‘Kalyan Singh Nagar’ is planned to be created in Uttar Pradesh by combining parts of Aligarh and Bulandshahr. Atrauli may be made its headquarters. The Revenue Board has sought a report on boundaries and tehsils.

UP News: A plan is underway to create a new district in Uttar Pradesh. It may be named ‘Kalyan Singh Nagar’ by combining some parts of Aligarh and Bulandshahr. This step is being taken to honor the contribution of former Chief Minister late Kalyan Singh and the significance of his birthplace, Atrauli.

Political Initiative on the Proposal

The demand for the formation of this new district was first raised by Rajveer Singh ‘Raju Bhaiya’, former MP from Etah and son of Kalyan Singh. He wrote a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasizing the need for development in the Atrauli and Dibai regions. He stated that while Kalyan Singh played a significant role in the overall development of the state, his birthplace and political working ground have been deprived of expected development. This proposal holds both administrative and political significance.

Revenue Board Seeks Report from Both Districts

The office of the Commissioner and Secretary of the Revenue Board has sent letters to the District Magistrates of Aligarh and Bulandshahr, seeking a report on the redrawing of boundaries and the possibilities of creating a new district. This report will include details of tehsils and geographical suitability. Based on this, the new district will be administratively established.

Consideration for Making Atrauli the District Headquarters

Atrauli may become the headquarters of the new district. Atrauli has been Kalyan Singh’s birthplace and political base. Atrauli and Madhauli villages could be selected as the central points of this new district. Geographically, it is considered suitable between Aligarh and Bulandshahr.

Honoring Kalyan Singh’s Contribution

Late Kalyan Singh served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh twice, Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan, and a Member of Parliament twice. He initiated many significant moves in politics and added new dimensions to the state’s politics during the Ram Mandir movement. His contribution and popularity among the public are considered major reasons behind the formation of this new district.
