America and Ukraine held four-hour-long talks on resolving the Russia war. US Secretary of State Rubio stated that progress was made in the peace agreement, but more work remains for long-term stability and economic development.
America: Officials from the US and Ukraine held talks for approximately four hours on Sunday to explore possibilities for resolving the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters after the talks that the discussions were positive. He added that several steps still need to be taken to implement the peace agreement.
Rubio said, ‘‘It's not just about the terms that end the fighting. Rather, it's also about the terms that prepare Ukraine for long-term prosperity. I believe we have made progress in that direction today, but more work remains to be done.’’
High-Level Delegation
The American side in these talks was represented by Marco Rubio, President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff, and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. These talks occurred at a time when Ukraine is striving to strengthen its position against the 2022 Russian invasion and to curb corruption within the country.

The objective of the talks was not merely to end the war, but also to prepare Ukraine for long-term stability and economic development. Rubio clarified that this process is complex and will take time, but both sides have taken positive steps towards progress.
Preparation Before Russia
A few days before these talks, President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff had already met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. The aim of this strategy was to achieve war control and establish peace through dialogue between the US and its allied countries.
Rubio stated that the US is playing an active role in these talks and is trying to find a solution in cooperation with Ukraine. He also mentioned that the peace agreement includes not only an end to the war but also the economic and social strengthening of Ukraine.
