Uttar Pradesh STF Nabs Five in Agra for Busted Government Job Scam Targeting Unemployed Youth

The Uttar Pradesh STF has arrested five members of a gang that defrauded unemployed youths by luring them with government job offers in Agra. Fake documents, original certificates, mobile phones, and vehicles were recovered from the accused. This gang used to lure individuals with promises of recruitment in SSC, COD, and Army Workshops.

Agra: The Uttar Pradesh STF has busted a gang that was duping unemployed youths in Agra by promising them government job recruitments. The STF arrested five members of the gang, from whom original documents of candidates, fake papers, vehicles, and mobile phones were recovered. The arrested accused include Dharmveer alias Dharma Gujar, Devendra Singh, Anoop, Haresh Pathak, and Paras Chahar.

According to the STF, this gang used to extort large sums of money from youths by promising them jobs in COD (Central Ordnance Depot), SSC, and Army Workshops. The police stated that the accused either prepared fake documents or helped youths pass examinations with the assistance of solvers.

STF Arrests the Accused

The STF carried out this operation late at night on September 3-4 in the New Agra police station area. The team had received information that the gang was active near the Abulala Dargah. Acting on the tip-off, the five accused were apprehended during an operation.

During the arrest, police recovered 6 Aadhaar cards, 4 PAN cards, 5 original High School mark sheets and 1 Intermediate mark sheet, 4 fake admit cards with photos, 5 caste certificates, 4 domicile certificates, ITI certificates, and other documents from the accused. In addition, 6 mobile phones, 1 car, and 2 motorcycles were also seized by the police.

Dharmveer Previously Booked for Fraud

During interrogation, the main accused, Dharmveer, revealed that the gang used to lure unemployed youths with job offers and would not return their original documents after taking money. Anoop, Haresh, and Paras used to trap youths from rural areas, while Premchand Verma helped them pass examinations through solvers.

The STF stated that Devendra had joined the Assam Rifles based on fake documents but absconded after his fraud was exposed during an investigation. Dharmveer has previously faced cases of fraud and forgery registered at the Fatehabad police station.

FIR Registered Against Accused at New Agra Police Station

An FIR has been registered against all the arrested accused at the New Agra police station under sections 318(4), 112, and 341(1) of the BNS. The police are now thoroughly investigating the case and are trying to ascertain how many more youths have been defrauded by this gang.

The STF and local police are working together to ensure that such incidents of fraud are prevented in the future. Authorities have appealed to the public not to deposit any amount by being lured with government job offers and to immediately report suspicious cases to the police.
