Uttar Pradesh Tightens Security for Kanwar Yatra: Bans on Bats, Flowers from CM

Administration Tightens Grip After DJ Disputes During Kanwar Yatra; Ban on Hockey Sticks, Baseball Bats. CM Yogi to Shower Flowers on Kanwariyas in Meerut and Muzaffarnagar via Helicopter.

Kanwad Yatra: The administration is on high alert regarding the ongoing Kanwar Yatra in Uttar Pradesh. In light of recent clashes and fights stemming from DJ competitions and loud music, the administration has issued several strict directives for devotees participating in the Yatra this year. The aim is to ensure a peaceful and safe pilgrimage.

Strict Decision Taken After Incidents of Assault

Incidents of fighting during DJ competitions in previous Kanwar Yatras had increased the administration's concerns. Keeping this in mind, a complete ban has been imposed on Kanwariyas carrying items like hockey sticks and baseball bats. Officials have clarified that this step is not intended to hurt anyone's religious sentiments but to maintain peace during the Yatra.

No Restrictions on Religious Symbols Like Trishuls

The administration has also clarified that there are no restrictions on carrying religious symbols like trishuls. Only items that could pose a threat to safety during the Yatra have been prohibited. Kanwariyas are requested to observe the rules along with their devotion.

CM Yogi's Program to Shower Flowers on Kanwariyas

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will shower flowers on Kanwariyas in Meerut and Muzaffarnagar today via helicopter. Administrative officials have stated that this program will begin at 11 am. Prior to this, CM Yogi has held several high-level meetings regarding the Kanwar Yatra and strict instructions have been given to the administration to ensure that the Yatra is not disrupted under any circumstances.

Strictness on DJ Vehicles, Adherence to Height Limit Essential

The administration has also shown strictness regarding DJ vehicles. Police reported that DJ vehicles were inspected at the Dadri Toll Temporary Post and Shivaya Toll Plaza. During the inspection, the height of approximately 55 DJ setups was found to be between 12 and 16 feet. Such heights could pose a danger to electrical wires, traffic flow, and the safety of the general public.

The police immediately instructed these vehicles to make the necessary changes. DJ operators reduced the height of the setups on the spot and made changes according to the standards, after which they were allowed to continue their journey.

Appeal from the Administration

The administration has appealed to the devotees participating in the Kanwar Yatra to complete this religious journey with full faith and peace. It has also been said that the rules made by the administration are to improve the safety and order of the Yatra. Strict action will be taken on any kind of aggression, disputes, or indiscipline.

Police Deployed, Strict Monitoring on Yatra Routes

The administration has directed the police and other security agencies to maintain complete surveillance on the Yatra routes. The force has been kept on alert mode to prevent any untoward incident. Additional forces have been deployed, especially in areas where disputes have occurred in the past.
