Around 2 AM on Monday night, several vehicles traveling at high speed collided with each other on the Yamuna Expressway in the lane heading from Agra to Noida amidst dense fog. Following the accident, seven buses and two cars caught fire, causing chaos.
Lucknow: A major road accident occurred on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh late Monday night due to dense fog. Several vehicles traveling from Agra to Noida collided with each other, after which seven buses and two cars caught fire. In this tragic incident, four people died of burns, while more than 27 passengers were seriously injured. The injured have been admitted to various hospitals.
The accident occurred at approximately 2 AM on Monday night near village Khadehra, under the Baldev police station area of Mathura district, at milestone number 125. According to eyewitnesses and administration officials, the area was covered in extremely dense fog at the time of the accident, reducing visibility to almost zero. Vehicles traveling at high speed were unable to see each other in time, and after being hit from behind, vehicles began to crash one after another.
Severe Fire After Collision
The collision was so severe that several buses and cars immediately caught fire. As soon as the fire broke out, panic ensued among the passengers on the buses. Some passengers saved their lives by jumping out of the windows and doors, but many people were trapped inside the vehicles. Seven buses and two cars were completely destroyed in the fire.
Upon receiving information, teams from the police, administration, and fire department arrived at the scene. The fire was brought under control after strenuous efforts with the help of about a dozen fire brigade vehicles. More than 20 ambulances were deployed for relief and rescue operations.

Four Deaths, Many Critical
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar confirmed that four passengers died of burns in the accident. Two of the deceased have been identified. The process of identifying the remaining deceased is underway. Some of the injured are said to be in critical condition and have been referred to higher medical centers. Following the accident, traffic on the Agra to Noida lane came to a complete standstill. The damaged vehicles were removed from the road with the help of cranes, after which traffic was restored after several hours of effort.
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has taken cognizance of this heartbreaking incident. According to the district administration, the Chief Minister has directed to provide financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to the families of the deceased and to provide proper and free treatment to the injured. District Magistrate CP Singh and SSP Shlok Kumar reached the spot themselves and monitored the relief efforts.
