Referring to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, Yogi Adityanath said Kalyan Singh accepted the struggle but did not accept an insult to Lord Ram. He said that giving up power for Ram was an important example from Kalyan Singh’s political life.

The chief minister said Kalyan Singh played an important role in paving the way for the construction of the Ram temple. He also referred to his work in education, health and infrastructure and said Kalyan Singh had taken action against copying mafias.

Yogi Adityanath accused the Samajwadi Party of failing to observe even minimum political courtesy. He alleged that the SP stayed away from Kalyan Singh’s funeral as well as his condolence meeting.

Yogi Adityanath said Kalyan Singh would always be remembered for his service to Sanatan Dharma and humanity. He also raised questions over the Samajwadi Party’s politics and its approach towards Kalyan Singh.

Without naming Akhilesh Yadav, Yogi Adityanath also targeted him during the programme. He said people who change colours sometimes describe the meaning of ‘P’ as backward and at other times as Pandit.

Yogi Adityanath took a dig at them, saying that one day they might define ‘P’ as Pakistan. His statement targeted the Samajwadi Party’s political strategy and its social equations.

Yogi Adityanath said Kalyan Singh would always be remembered for his service to Sanatan Dharma and humanity. Targeting Akhilesh Yadav, he also questioned the renaming of Kannauj Medical College and the college named after Ahilyabai Holkar.

The programme was organised by state minister Sandeep Singh and former Etah MP Rajveer Singh. Supporters attended the event from different parts of the state. The political significance of the programme was also linked to the BJP’s strategy to strengthen its hold among the OBC and Lodha communities.
