Sawai Madhopur: On Sunday, a youth attempted a dangerous stunt at the Dheel dam in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan and was swept away by the b current. The youth was intoxicated, and local residents made several attempts to stop him, but he did not desist. Following the incident, SDRF and Civil Defense teams are carrying out a search operation.

Police and administration officials reached the spot and commenced the search for the youth. Currently, the youth has not been identified, and his condition remains unknown.

Youth Performed Dangerous Stunt While Intoxicated

According to eyewitnesses, the youth had consumed alcohol and was trying to perform a stunt on the b current flowing over the dam's overflow. Local residents tried to stop him multiple times, but he paid no heed. While attempting to cross the dam, the youth lost his balance and fell into the water. He was carried away by the b current.

Local residents reported that the dam's water level is currently at a dangerous level due to heavy rainfall and water accumulation. This made it extremely risky for the youth to stand on the dam and perform stunts.

Police and Administration Reached the Spot Upon Receiving Information of the Incident

Upon receiving information about the incident, teams from the Sawai Madhopur police and administration reached the spot. The administration also summoned the SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) and Civil Defense teams. Both teams have departed from the district, and the search operation will commence upon their arrival.

A police official stated that, considering the hazardous conditions in the area, villagers and local residents have been advised to stay in safe locations. The administration also cautioned against any stunts or proximity activities at the dam.

Identification and Inquiry of the Youth

The youth has not been identified yet. The police are questioning nearby villagers and shopkeepers to ascertain the youth's origin and how he reached the dam. Villagers present at the scene mentioned that the youth appeared very courageous, but in his intoxicated state and the b water current, he failed to recognize the danger.

The police have also begun efforts to collect video footage from CCTV cameras in the area and from nearby houses. This footage may prove helpful in the search operation.

Need for Security Around the Dam

Villagers and the local administration believe that adequate security measures are not in place around the dam. The dam becomes dangerous during periods of rain and water accumulation, and in such times, the local administration should strengthen security protocols. This incident is being viewed as a warning to prevent similar accidents in the future.

As soon as the SDRF and Civil Defense teams arrive, they will attempt to locate the youth using drones and boats. The administration's objective is to rescue the youth as soon as possible and prevent any unfortunate outcomes.
