YouTube is soon launching an AI-based Super Resolution feature, through which old and low-resolution videos will also appear in high quality. This upscaling technology will enhance video detail and sharpness. Additionally, the platform is changing its content policies from November 17, which include stricter rules on gambling and violent gaming.
YouTube Super Resolution Feature: YouTube has announced that it will soon release an AI upscaling feature called Super Resolution, which will transform old and low-resolution videos into high quality. This feature enhances video detail and sharpness with the help of artificial intelligence and pattern recognition. In the initial phase, it is being applied to content with resolutions lower than 1080p. Once the feature arrives, old videos will also appear clear and sharp on TVs and large screens. Alongside this, YouTube will implement stricter policies on gambling and violent gaming content from November 17.
How This Feature Will Work
The new tool will improve video details with the help of artificial intelligence and pattern recognition algorithms. This system will understand existing pixels in old footage and add new details and sharpness to them. Currently, the feature is being rolled out for videos with resolutions lower than 1080p, and in the future, it will also support HD content.

Improved Experience on Every Screen
After the upscaling feature is introduced, low-quality videos on YouTube will appear clearer and more distinct, especially on TVs and large screens. Users will also be able to see whether the video is playing in an upscaled version or its original resolution. This update is expected to significantly enhance the visual experience of older content.
Changes in Content Policies as Well
YouTube is also going to change some content rules on the platform from November 17. The company has stated that videos related to gambling, including those involving digital goods like NFTs, will be restricted. Furthermore, an age limit will be applied to violent and casino-style gaming content to protect children and minors from such content.
