The Zimbabwe Cricket Board announced a 15-member Zimbabwe squad for the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup on Friday. The tournament will begin on February 7th, with the final match scheduled for March 8th.
Sports News: The Zimbabwe Cricket Board (ZC) announced its 15-member national team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 on Friday. Experienced all-rounder Sikandar Raza will once again captain Zimbabwe in this prestigious tournament, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The tournament begins on February 7th, and the final will be played on March 8th, 2026.
Zimbabwe has been placed in Group B this time, where they will face tough competition. In the group stage, Zimbabwe will face Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland, and Oman. The top two teams from this group will advance to the Super 8 stage.
Limited Changes in Team Selection, Reliance on Experience
The Zimbabwe Cricket Board has made few changes to the team selection. The core of the team that played in the T20I triangular series against Sri Lanka in Pakistan in November has been retained. Fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani is the only new player returning to the squad, having recovered his fitness. His return strengthens Zimbabwe's pace bowling attack.
Muzarabani will share the responsibility of taking the new ball with left-arm fast bowler Richard Ngarava. Bradley Evans and Tendai Maposa will provide depth to the pace bowling unit, giving the team options in different conditions.

Experienced Faces Dominate the Spin Department
Zimbabwe has prioritized experience in the spin bowling department. Experienced spinner Graeme Cremer has been included in the team once again, and he will play a key role in the middle overs alongside Wellington Masakadza. Both bowlers could prove to be very important for Zimbabwe on the subcontinent pitches. Zimbabwe's batting line-up is a good mix of young talent and experienced players. Young batsmen Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani will be eager to prove themselves on a big stage like the T20 World Cup.
Experienced wicketkeeper-batsman Brendan Taylor will provide stability to the team with his experience at the top of the order. All-rounder Ryan Burl will strengthen the team's balance with his aggressive batting and leg spin. In addition, players like Tashinga Musekiwa, Clive Madande, Tony Munyonga, and Dion Myers provide the team with extra depth and flexibility.
