BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi launched a scathing attack on the INDIA alliance on Monday (June 30, 2025). He bly criticized Tejashwi Yadav's recent statement on the Waqf Amendment Act and said that it was an insult to the Constitution of Babasaheb Ambedkar.
BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi: BJP MP and spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi launched a sharp attack on the opposition INDIA alliance on Monday (June 30, 2025). Reacting to Tejashwi Yadav's recent statement on the Waqf Act, he said that the opposition parties were undermining the fundamental principles of the Constitution and reservation. He called the INDIA alliance supporters of "Mulla Maulvi's Namazwad" and alleged that these parties were trying to promote radical laws like Sharia.
Speaking to reporters, Sudhanshu Trivedi said that a direct attack was being made on the justice, equality, and fraternity that Babasaheb Ambedkar's Constitution talks about. "The form of socialism of Ram Manohar Lohia and Jayaprakash Narayan was never like what these people are creating. These parties like RJD and SP are actually raising the flag of Namazwad instead of socialism," he added.
He said that the BJP and JDU stand with true socialism, while the opposition alliance is promoting minority appeasement and a communal agenda.
'Opposition creating a threat to reservation'
Sudhanshu Trivedi said that the opposition governments and their leaders have become so blind in the politics of vote bank that they are compromising even on reservation. He alleged that in West Bengal, Karnataka, and other states, the rights of backward classes are being snatched by including Muslim castes in OBC reservation. He said, "The Congress government had put Sharia above the Constitution."
During the time of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the reservation rights of SC, ST, and OBC classes were abolished. Reservation for Dalits and backward classes was also ended in AMU and Jamia. The opposition is conspiring to encroach upon reservation through the back door.
Trivedi also questioned the functioning of the Waqf Board and asked why there was no transparency about how many hospitals, colleges, or public interest institutions were running on Waqf land. "Tejashwi Yadav should read his father Lalu Yadav's statement in Parliament, in which he had raised questions about Waqf land," he said.
Allegations of bias against the Waqf Board
The BJP MP, giving an example, said that the Waqf Board had claimed a gurudwara in Yamunanagar, but no one from the opposition parties opposed it. He alleged that the opposition decides on a scale which minority institution to support and which to leave. Sudhanshu Trivedi said that the Waqf Amendment Act, passed by Parliament and approved by the President, is completely legal and constitutional.
He informed that this matter is currently pending in the Supreme Court, while the decisions of the Allahabad and Calcutta High Courts have gone in favor of this law. He accused the opposition of misleading people in the name of the Waqf law and engaging in the politics of polarization.
'Real agenda of the INDIA alliance exposed'
Sudhanshu Trivedi said that the true face of the INDIA alliance has come before the public. "Their agenda is minority appeasement, they are the ones who protect terrorists, they want to impose Sharia, putting the Constitution at stake. These are the same people who have inducted Muslim castes into OBC reservation in Bengal and are now doing the same in Karnataka," he said.
He claimed that the BJP and its allied parties are committed to providing justice and equal opportunities to every section of society, while the opposition alliance is entangled in vote bank and communal polarization politics.
Direct question to Tejashwi Yadav
The BJP MP asked Tejashwi Yadav, "Tell me how much land of the Waqf Board is being used for public interest in Bihar? How many schools, hospitals, and colleges have been built on Waqf land?" He said that when it comes to public property, why is transparency not adopted? Sudhanshu Trivedi concluded by saying that in the upcoming state elections in 2025 and 2026 and then the Lok Sabha elections in 2029, the public will decide whether Babasaheb's Constitution or the opposition alliance's Namazwad will prevail in the country. He said, "The public has now understood who is with them and who is misleading them."
