Relief for travelers from Dhanbad is on the horizon. Ticket bookings for the Kolkata-Kanpur, Dhanbad-Lokmanya Tilak, and Dhanbad-Yesvantpur special trains have commenced.
Dhanbad: Considering the scorching heat and the increasing travel rush, the Railways has announced several special trains originating from Dhanbad, with bookings now open. These include the Kolkata-Kanpur Special, Dhanbad-Lokmanya Tilak (Mumbai) Special, and Dhanbad-Yesvantpur (Bengaluru) Special. This move by the Railways is expected to provide significant relief to passengers in July and August, as securing seats on regular trains had become difficult.
According to railway sources, the Dhanbad-Yesvantpur Special recorded long waiting lists in its initial runs, but seats are available in sleeper and third AC from July 14th. The fare for the sleeper class in this train is ₹1050 and for the third AC is ₹2655.

- 06563 Yesvantpur-Dhanbad Special: Will run every Saturday until July 26th.
- 06564 Dhanbad-Yesvantpur Special: Will run every Monday until July 28th.
The Dhanbad-Yesvantpur Special witnessed considerable waiting lists in its first two runs, reflecting the demand from migrant laborers and students working or studying in and around Bengaluru. The Railways says that seat availability will improve after July 14th.

- 03379 Dhanbad-Lokmanya Tilak Special: Will run every Tuesday, from July 1st to July 29th.
- 03380 Lokmanya Tilak-Dhanbad Special: Will run every Thursday, from July 3rd to July 31st.
This special train is no less than a boon for passengers traveling to Mumbai. Securing tickets on the Dhanbad-Mumbai route had become difficult due to the heavy rush on regular trains; this special train offers much-needed relief.

- 04153 Kanpur-Kolkata Special: Will run every Monday and Thursday from July 3rd to August 14th.
- 04154 Kolkata-Kanpur Special: Will run every Tuesday and Friday from July 4th to August 15th.
This special train will prove to be very convenient for those traveling between major commercial and educational centers like Kolkata and Kanpur. The schedule of this train has been prepared keeping in mind the increase in passenger traffic during festivals and holidays in July-August.
Why did the Railways launch these special trains?
In fact, many states have festivals, holidays, and the wedding season in July and August. Additionally, a large number of laborers and students return home from work or studies. Considering the heavy demand for tickets and long waiting lists in regular trains, the Railways decided to run special trains on these routes to ensure that passengers do not face any inconvenience and the crowd remains controlled.
Railway officials said that ticket bookings in the special trains will be done entirely as per IRCTC rules. Passengers can book tickets from www.irctc.co.in or railway reservation centers. Although there was a longer waiting list in the initial runs, passengers have been advised to book in advance.
