A massive explosion at the Syngene Chemicals factory in the Sangareddy district of Telangana on Monday morning caused widespread panic in the area. The explosion occurred around 9 am in a chemical reactor at the factory, located in the Pashamylaram industrial area, and subsequently engulfed the entire unit in flames. The sound of the explosion was heard several kilometers away, causing chaos in the surrounding area.
According to eyewitnesses, the explosion was so powerful that several workers were thrown into the air and fell far away. Screams erupted at the scene, and people were seen running around to save their lives. The fire quickly engulfed the entire factory.
10 Workers Dead
According to information received so far, 10 workers have died in the accident, while more than 20 people have been injured. The condition of many workers is reported to be critical. The injured were initially taken to the hospital in Tancheur and then the seriously injured were referred to Hyderabad. The relief and rescue operation at the site is ongoing rapidly, where rescue teams are working with full diligence to control the situation.
Fire and Medical Teams Engaged in Relief Efforts
Four fire engines are stationed at the scene, trying to control the fire. Simultaneously, 108 ambulances and medical teams are engaged in taking the injured to the hospital and providing first aid. A part of the factory building collapsed due to the explosion, raising the possibility of people being trapped under the rubble. The administration has, as a precaution, evacuated the entire area of the factory and its surroundings.
More Than 100 Workers Were on Duty
According to local sources, Syngene Chemicals manufactures chemical powders used for medicines, and around 100 workers from different parts of the country were working there. As soon as the news of the accident spread, the relatives of the deceased and the injured began gathering outside the factory, making the atmosphere even more sorrowful.
Administration Orders Investigation
The administration has issued orders for a high-level investigation, considering the seriousness of the accident. Preliminary investigations suggest a technical fault in the reactor, but the real cause of the explosion will be confirmed only after the investigation. In the meantime, the police and fire department have appealed to people not to gather around the accident site so that the relief work is not hindered.
