Salman Khan's "Sikander" is showing signs of weakening at the box office after just six days. Earning even a few more crores now presents a significant challenge.
Entertainment Desk: Salman Khan's highly anticipated film, "Sikander," released in theaters on March 30th. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, this big-budget political action drama, despite its star-studded cast and extensive promotion, has failed to capture the audience's hearts. While the film performed reasonably well in the first three days, its momentum significantly slowed from the fourth day onward. Although it has grossed close to 100 crores in six days, its daily earnings are continuously declining.
"Sikander's" Day-Wise Box Office Report
According to Sacnilk's report, "Sikander" had a phenomenal opening day collection of 26 crores. On the second day, its earnings increased to 29 crores. However, on the third day, the film's pace slowed down, with collections reaching 19.5 crores. On the fourth day, it managed only 9.75 crores, and on the fifth day, a mere 6 crores. On the sixth day, Friday, the film collected only 3.75 crores. Thus, "Sikander's" total six-day collection is around 94 crores.
Entry into the 100 Crore Club Becomes a Challenge
Although "Sikander" is very close to the 100 crore mark, the film's declining momentum suggests that its entry into this club will be a struggle. While Salman Khan's film benefited from a grand setup, an action-packed storyline, and the presence of a popular actress like Rashmika Mandanna, this package failed to sufficiently attract viewers. The film's story and screenplay have received mixed reactions on social media, impacting its box office collections.
Increased Tension for Makers; Budget Recovery Difficult
It is reported that the budget of "Sikander" is approximately 200 crores. If the film's earnings continue to decline at this rate, recovering its budget will be difficult. The makers are increasingly concerned that if the film doesn't perform significantly well over the weekend, it could suffer a major setback. Their hopes now rest on Saturday and Sunday, which represent the film's last chance to improve its position.
Fans Expect Better Content from Salman
Salman Khan's fans are always excited about his films, but audiences' expectations are now linked not only to star power but also to b content. "Sikander's" current performance indicates that big names and formulaic films are no longer guaranteed box office success. If the film picks up some momentum over the coming weekend, it might cross the 100 crore mark; otherwise, this film will be added to the list of average performers in Salman's career.
