L2 Empuraan Box Office: Day 9 Collection Shows Slight Dip, Still Competes with Salman Khan's Sikander
Last Updated: 11 hour ago

Mohanlal's action thriller, 'L2 Empuraan,' has been the talk of the town since its release. Despite several controversies, the film has performed well at the domestic box office, giving Salman Khan's 'Sikander' a tough competition. Let's find out its collection on the second Friday.

L2 Empuraan Box Office Day 9: South superstar Mohanlal's acclaimed film, L2 Empuraan, is performing exceptionally well at the box office. This action thriller, a sequel to 'Lucifer,' is being widely appreciated by audiences due to its b content and stellar performances. However, the film witnessed a decline in its earnings on the ninth day and, despite this, it hasn't completely surpassed Salman Khan's 'Sikander.' Friday saw a close competition between the two films, with 'Sikander' marginally ahead.

'Empuraan's' Magic Since Opening Day

Mohanlal starrer 'L2 Empuraan' had a phenomenal opening day collection of ₹21 crore. Subsequently, the film consistently earned over ₹10 crore for five consecutive days. The film's storyline, action sequences, and political twists kept the audience engaged. In its first week, the film gained traction not only in the South but also in the North. Critics also praised the film, with Mohanlal's performance receiving special commendation.

Collection Dips on Second Friday

However, the film's earnings witnessed a sharp decline on the ninth day, or the second Friday. According to early trends from Sacnilk, L2 Empuraan collected ₹3 crore, the lowest so far. Compared to Thursday, the earnings dropped by approximately 33 percent. This is considered a natural dip before the weekend, and a resurgence is expected on Saturday and Sunday.

Competition with 'Sikander,' but No Clear Winner

While 'L2 Empuraan' is holding its own, Salman Khan's 'Sikander' remains a b contender at the box office. On Friday, 'Sikander' reportedly earned approximately ₹4.1 crore, about ₹1 crore more than 'Empuraan.' Although 'Sikander's' momentum has slowed, the film has cumulatively earned approximately ₹94.26 crore, while L2 Empuraan's nine-day collection stands at ₹91.25 crore.
Will the weekend change the game?

All eyes are now on the weekend figures. Both films have the potential to draw audiences to theaters on Saturday and Sunday. The positive response to L2 Empuraan's content in the South belt is particularly encouraging. Therefore, the film might surpass 'Sikander's' collection by Sunday, but a b upswing is necessary.

South vs. Bollywood Battle Continues at the Box Office

Once again, a direct clash is evident between South Indian cinema and Bollywood. While South films are captivating audiences with compelling storylines and performances, Bollywood still seems to rely on star power. The performance of both L2 Empuraan and Sikander clearly indicates that today's audience prioritizes content over names alone.
