West Indies Announce Squad for ODI Series Against Pakistan

The West Indies cricket team is set to play a three-match ODI series against Pakistan on their home ground starting August 8th. Prior to this, the two teams recently played a T20 series, in which the West Indies suffered a 2-1 defeat.

WI vs PAK ODI Series: Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan. The series will begin on August 8, 2025, and all matches will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad. The most notable feature of this squad is the return of fast bowler Romario Shepherd, who has been out of the ODI team for some time.

The West Indies team recently lost the T20 series to Pakistan 2-1, and they will be aiming to make a comeback in this ODI series. Shai Hope has once again been entrusted with the captaincy of the team, and he is currently one of the most reliable batsmen for the West Indies.

West Indies ODI Squad: A Blend of Experienced and Young Players

The squad released by Cricket West Indies shows a good balance of young and experienced players. The return of Romario Shepherd to the team strengthens the bowling department. Shepherd played his last ODI match in December 2024, and he has now returned to the national team. On the other hand, fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has been rested.

CWI stated that this decision was taken keeping Joseph's workload management in mind. This indicates that the board is working on a strategy to keep its players fit and prepared for the 2027 World Cup. Keacy Carty, Roston Chase, and Amir Jangoo have also been included in this squad, which will provide strength to the middle order and spin department.
