Waqf Act: Kerala BJP President and former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar responded to allegations by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan accusing the central government of targeting Catholic Church land. Chandrasekhar stated that while land grabbing is wrong, owning property is not a crime. He also advised Rahul Gandhi to read the Constitution.
Congress Criticized over Waqf Act; Amendment Deemed Necessary
Chandrasekhar asserted that the Waqf Act, enacted by the Congress, violated the property rights of millions of Indians. He claimed the Waqf Amendment Bill is a step towards rectifying this injustice. He added that the BJP's aim is not to target any community but to ensure equal rights for all citizens.

Directly attacking Rahul Gandhi, Chandrasekhar stated that his politics is based on misinformation and divide-and-rule. He alleged that Gandhi and Vijayan are attempting to spread religious fear among the people of Kerala, an attempt he believes will fail.

Rahul Gandhi alleged that following the amendment to the Waqf Act, the central government is targeting Christian community lands, claiming it is part of the RSS agenda. Pinarayi Vijayan similarly stated that the mention of Church property in the RSS mouthpiece "Organiser" is an attempt at religious polarization.
