Delhi CM Atishi Accuses BJP Candidate Ramesh Bidhuri's Son of Intimidation

Delhi Election 2025: Campaigning for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections concluded on Monday, January 3rd. Voting will take place on February 5th, with results announced on February 8th. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has leveled serious allegations against Manish Bidhuri, son of Ramesh Bidhuri, the BJP candidate from the Kalkaji constituency. Atishi stated that Manish Bidhuri, along with 3-4 others, was intimidating people in the JJ Camp and Girinagar areas, leading to his detention by police following a complaint.

Atishi's Accusation: Anticipating Police Action

Speaking to ANI, CM Atishi stated that during the silence period after the end of campaigning, outsiders are not permitted within the assembly constituency. She reported receiving information that an individual associated with Ramesh Bidhuri's Tuglakabad team was intimidating people in the JJ Camp and Girinagar areas. Following this, Atishi informed the administration, leading to the police detaining Manish Bidhuri and his associates. Atishi expressed confidence that the police will take appropriate action in the matter.

Ramesh Bidhuri's Rebuttal: 'Atishi's Statements Stem from Defeat Anxiety'

BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri countered CM Atishi's allegations, attributing them to her anxiety over defeat. He stated, "Instead of making statements like Kejriwal, Atishi should uphold constitutional dignity."

Ramesh Bidhuri also mentioned that he has two sons: one is an advocate at the Delhi High Court, and the other is a vice-president at a company abroad. He further alleged that Atishi initially identified a photograph as Manish Bidhuri and is now creating confusion by identifying a different person as Manish.

Campaigning Concludes

Ramesh Bidhuri concluded by stating that campaigning has ended and the public should be allowed to make their decision. He also urged Atishi not to worry about defeat and to have faith in democracy.

Close Contest in Kalkaji Assembly Constituency

This election sees CM Atishi contesting against Ramesh Bidhuri of the BJP in the Kalkaji Assembly constituency. Alka Lamba is also in the fray, representing the Congress. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is confident of victory. Ramesh Bidhuri previously served as a Member of Parliament from Delhi. He was not given a ticket for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and subsequently received a ticket for the Assembly elections.
