India-Pak: India has taken b action against Pakistani citizens following the Pulwama attack. The Indian government, in a CCS meeting, decided that short-term visas issued to Pakistani citizens will be considered cancelled after April 27th, and medical visas after April 29th. Subsequently, citizens from Pakistan are returning home one by one.
India's Strong Stance: Visa Revocation
Following the terrorist attack in Pulwama, India has taken b action against Pakistan. After withdrawing from the Indus Waters Treaty, India has now cancelled the visas of Pakistani citizens. All of them have until today, April 27th, to leave Indian soil.
Following the CCS meeting, the Indian government clarified that short-term visas will be cancelled after April 27th and medical visas after April 29th. Subsequently, all state governments are engaged in the process of sending Pakistani citizens back, adhering to this decision.
Return of Pakistani Citizens by State Governments
The Uttar Pradesh government clarified that most Pakistani citizens present in their state have been sent back. According to DGP Prashant Kumar, only one Pakistani citizen remains, who will return to Pakistan on April 30th. Similarly, the Bihar government has also sent back 19 Pakistani citizens.
Maharashtra has the highest number of Pakistani citizens. State Minister Yogesh Kadam stated that approximately 1000 Pakistani citizens are on short-term visas and 4000 on long-term visas. All of them have been ordered to leave India by April 27th.
Return of Indian Citizens
Following the Indian government's b actions, Indian citizens are also returning from Pakistan. In the last three days, over 450 Indians have returned to their country via the Attari-Wagah border. About 23 Indians working for a PSL broadcasting company in Pakistan also returned home on Saturday.
Warning to Pakistani Citizens
Delhi's Home Minister Ashish Sood has appealed to citizens to immediately inform the police if any Pakistani citizens are residing in their area. He also stated that only those Pakistani citizens who entered India on medical visas have been given an extension until April 29th.
