Last Updated: 3 hour ago

A shocking revelation from an Ordnance Factory has sent tremors through India's security agencies. UP ATS arrested Kumar Vikas, a junior works manager at the factory, for leaking sensitive information to Pakistan's intelligence agency, the ISI.

Kanpur: Kumar Vikas, an employee of the Ordnance Factory, has been arrested by the UP ATS for espionage on behalf of Pakistan's ISI. After connecting with a Pakistani agent named 'Neha Sharma' through social media, Vikas shared sensitive information from the Ordnance Factory. Confidential data, including employee attendance sheets, production charts, and machine layouts, was transmitted via WhatsApp and the Ludo app.

The ATS had previously arrested another employee from Firozabad in the same case, leading to Vikas's identification. Interrogation of the accused is underway, and investigating agencies are working to determine the extent of the conspiracy.

Facebook Friendship, Ludo Game Lead to Treason

Social media is often touted as a tool for making friends, but for Kumar Vikas, it became a path to treason. In January 2025, a purported Pakistani agent, 'Neha Sharma,' befriended Vikas on Facebook. Posing as a BHEL employee, Neha skillfully lured Vikas into sharing information, progressing from WhatsApp conversations to clandestine communication using the Ludo game.

The Lure of Money Betrays the Nation

While patriotism signifies sacrifice for some, for Vikas, it became a game of money. Confidential Ordnance Factory information, employee attendance sheets, and sensitive production data were shared via WhatsApp for the ISI. This betrayal, concealed within a Ludo game, is reminiscent of a suspense thriller.

It's noteworthy that Ravindra Kumar, another employee from the Firozabad Ordnance Factory, was arrested a few days earlier. This led the ATS to Kumar Vikas, who dealt a severe blow to national security.

ATS's Stringent Action and the Treacherous Intentions

The ATS has arrested Kumar Vikas, and intense interrogation is underway. Investigating agencies are also trying to ascertain whether this is part of a larger conspiracy involving more employees. This act of betrayal against the nation has shaken security agencies. Friendships forged on social media are no longer simply friendships; they pose a significant threat to national security.
