Putin Kept Trump Waiting for an Hour Before a 90-Minute Conversation. This isn't the first time Putin has made a world leader wait.

Trump-Putin: Russian President Vladimir Putin is known for making world leaders he dislikes wait extended periods before meetings or conversations. This has been observed on several occasions. Reports now indicate that when former US President Donald Trump called Putin to discuss a potential ceasefire in the Russo-Ukrainian war, he was kept waiting for approximately an hour.

Conversation After an Hour-Long Delay

According to several reports, Trump had to wait an hour for the phone call. Following the delay, Putin discussed the Ukraine war and a potential ceasefire with him. A video circulating on social media shows Putin at a business conference where the host, Alexander Shokhin, reminds him about the call with Trump. Putin shrugs and jokingly says, "Don't listen to him..." When Shokhin remarks, "We'll see what Trump's reaction is," Putin replies, "I wasn't talking about Trump, but about Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov."

90-Minute Trump-Putin Discussion

According to The Sun's report, Putin arrived at the Kremlin at 5 pm, while Trump's call was scheduled an hour earlier. Despite this, Putin spoke with Trump for approximately 90 minutes. The discussion reportedly covered the Russo-Ukrainian war, ceasefire possibilities, and halting attacks on energy infrastructure.

Putin's History of Making Leaders Wait

This is not the first instance of Putin making a head of state wait. In 2014, he made former German Chancellor Angela Merkel wait for six hours. The meeting's subject matter was also Ukraine. While Germany and Russia experienced tense relations at the time, Putin's diplomatic strategy resulted in Merkel waiting for 4 hours and 15 minutes.
