Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee's Protest
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has written to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, protesting the film. The letter states that Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency' attempts to misrepresent history and damage the image of Sikhs. The SGPC demands a ban on the film's release in Punjab on January 17th.
Shiromani Committee's Warning
Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of the Shiromani Committee, appealed to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to prevent the film's release.
He warned that the film's release could incite anger and unrest within the Sikh community, and it is the state government's responsibility to prevent this. Furthermore, the Shiromani Committee has also sent a demand letter to all Deputy Commissioners in Punjab.
Banned in Bangladesh
While the film is set for release in India, it has been banned in Bangladesh. The film will not be screened there.
