A tragic fire in a three-story building in Puppalaguda, Ranga Reddy district, Telangana, has resulted in the death of three people, including a child, and left two others critically injured.

Hyderabad: A devastating fire in a three-story building in Puppalaguda, Ranga Reddy district, Telangana, claimed the lives of three individuals, including a child, and severely injured two more. The incident occurred around 5:30 PM on February 28th, originating from a short circuit in a grocery store on the ground floor. Police sources indicate that a refrigerator in the store exploded, causing the fire and smoke to spread rapidly throughout the building.

Three Deaths in the Tragedy

The fire spread so quickly that it engulfed the upper floors within minutes. The family of Usman Khan resided on the upper floors and became trapped in the smoke. Jamila Khatun (65), Shahna Khanam (30), and Sidra Fatima (6) died from smoke inhalation. Meanwhile, Yunus Khan (44) and his wife, Asia Khatun (36), who lived on the second floor, jumped from the building to escape, sustaining critical injuries.

Short Circuit Identified as Cause

Local resident Tamiz Khan, a relative of the affected family, reported the incident to the police. Firefighters arrived at the scene and brought the fire under control after hours of effort, but unfortunately, three lives were lost. Preliminary investigations attribute the fire to a short circuit. Police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident and are questioning the grocery store owner and others.
