Yogi Adityanath Condemns Kunal Kamra's Remarks, Citing Misuse of Freedom of Expression
Kunal-Kamra News: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has responded to comedian Kunal Kamra's controversial remarks. Adityanath stated that freedom of expression cannot be misused to launch personal attacks against others. He also lamented that some individuals are exploiting this freedom to widen the chasm of dissent and division within the nation.
Eknath Shinde's Statement - "Freedom of Speech Must Have Limits"
Earlier, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also commented on the matter. He asserted that while freedom of speech exists, it must have boundaries. Shinde stated, "I understand satire, but decorum should be maintained when making personal attacks. If not, a reaction is natural."
Kunal Kamra's Defiance
Kunal Kamra has explicitly refused to apologize for the controversy. He maintained that his statement mirrored what Maharashtra leader Ajit Pawar had said about Eknath Shinde. Kamra stated, "What I said is exactly what Ajit Pawar said about Shinde."
Kamra also addressed the vandalism at the Habitat Studio. He argued that a venue is merely a platform and cannot be held responsible for his comedy. He further stated that attacking a venue for a comedian's words is as foolish as overturning a tomato truck because you dislike butter chicken.
Expressing his resolute stance, Kunal Kamra declared, "I am not afraid of this mob. I will not hide under my bed waiting for this to blow over."
