Previously making controversial comments about "Hitman," Sharma, Shama is now praising Rohit's captaincy and congratulating Team India.

Shama Mohammed's Previous Statements:

During the Champions Trophy, Shama Mohammed commented on Rohit Sharma's fitness, referring to him as "overweight." She also questioned his captaincy. This sparked intense social media criticism, with the BJP highlighting the comments. Facing growing controversy, Congress distanced itself from Shama, advising caution. She subsequently deleted her controversial posts.

A Change of Heart Following Victory

After Team India's 2025 Champions Trophy win, Shama Mohammed shared a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), praising Rohit Sharma's captaincy. She wrote: "Congratulations to Team India on winning the 2025 Champions Trophy! Salute to Captain Rohit Sharma, who laid the foundation for victory with a 76-run knock. Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul also played excellent innings, bringing India this historic win!"

The BCCI also objected to Shama Mohammed's controversial comments. The BCCI secretary reacted, stating, "Rohit Sharma is the captain of the Indian team, and such comments against him are unacceptable, especially when Team India is playing a crucial ICC tournament." Following Shama Mohammed's U-turn, social media users heavily criticized her. Many commented on her post, saying, "Praise now won't change what you said before. Everyone remembers." Others attributed her comments to political motivations.
