The Jharkhand government has planned to recruit over 60,000 teachers in the state. This process will be divided into three phases. This announcement by the Jharkhand government is a significant step towards strengthening the education sector. State School Education and Literacy Minister Ramdas Soren announced this important plan during the Utkal Samaj foundation day program.

Recruitment in Three Phases

* Phase 1: 26,000 assistant teachers will be appointed through the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET). According to Education Minister Ramdas Soren, the plan is to complete this process by April 2025.

* Phase 2: 10,000 teachers will be recruited to promote the teaching of regional languages. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has emphasized the inclusion of these languages in the curriculum from the upcoming academic year.

* Phase 3: An additional 25,000 to 26,000 teachers will be appointed, for which JTET will be conducted.

This decision is a significant effort to enhance both the quality and diversity of education in Jharkhand. Chief Minister Hemant Soren's emphasis on including regional and tribal languages in the curriculum is a commendable step towards the state's cultural and educational development.

* Studying Other States: West Bengal has been visited, and there are plans to evaluate the Odisha model.
* Changes in Teacher-Student Ratio: One teacher for every 10-30 students. Two teachers will be appointed for more than 30 students. The recruitment process will be simplified through regulation amendments.
