Gujarat Titans defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 8 wickets at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday in the 18th season of IPL 2025. Gujarat secured their second win of the season, delivering a significant blow to RCB's hopes.

Gujarat Titans comfortably chased down the target in 17.5 overs, losing only two wickets. This victory marked Gujarat Titans' second win in the tournament. RCB's Weak Start, Batsmen Disappoint

RCB's batsmen failed to deliver a convincing performance on their home turf. Arshad Khan and Mohammed Siraj wreaked havoc early in RCB's innings. Arshad dismissed Virat Kohli for just 7 runs, while Siraj bowled Devdat Padikkal for 4. Captain Rajat Patidar then fell to Ishant Sharma for 12 runs off 12 balls.

Phil Salt started aggressively but was dismissed by Siraj for 14. Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingstone then attempted to steady the innings. Livingstone scored 54 runs off 40 balls, including one four and five sixes. Tim David contributed a quickfire 32 off 18 balls in the final overs, helping RCB reach 169.

Buttler's Storm

Chasing 169, Gujarat Titans' start was also unspectacular. Captain Shubman Gill was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 14. However, Jos Buttler and Sai Sudharsan then stabilized the innings, forming a 75-run partnership for the second wicket. Sudharsan scored 49 runs off 36 balls, including seven fours and a six, before being caught by Hazlewood, giving RCB their second breakthrough.

Jos Buttler and Sherfane Rutherford then guided the team to victory. Buttler remained unbeaten on 73 runs off 39 balls, hitting five fours and six sixes. Rutherford provided good support, scoring 30 off 18 balls.

Gujarat's Bowling Prowess

Gujarat Titans' bowlers delivered a stellar performance. Mohammed Siraj took 3 wickets, while Sai Kishore's two wickets disrupted the middle order. Arshad, Prashid Krishna, and Ishant Sharma also claimed a wicket each. Jos Buttler's magnificent innings overshadowed RCB's efforts. His aggressive batting enthralled the spectators, propelling Gujarat Titans to victory in 17.5 overs.
