In the 26th match of IPL 2025, Gujarat Titans, batting first against Lucknow Super Giants, scored 180 runs in 20 overs. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharshan provided a brilliant start to the innings.

Sports News: Gujarat Titans, batting first in the 26th match of IPL 2025, posted a total of 180 runs. After a stellar opening partnership by Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharshan, it seemed Gujarat would easily surpass the 200-run mark. However, Lucknow Super Giants' bowlers delivered a magnificent bowling performance in the middle overs. Following the dismissal of the opening batsmen, no other batsman could play a significant innings, restricting Gujarat's score to 180.

Gill-Sudharshan's Storm, Then Sudden Silence

Gujarat, after winning the toss and electing to bat, started explosively. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharshan added 120 runs for the first wicket in just 12.5 overs. Gill scored 60 runs off 38 balls, including six fours and a six, while Sudharshan played a quickfire knock of 56 runs off 37 balls, studded with seven fours and a six.

But as soon as Avesh Khan dismissed Gill, Gujarat's batting faltered. In the very next over, Ravi Bishnoi sent Sudharshan back to the pavilion, and from there, Lucknow tightened its grip on the match.

Middle Order's Failure

Despite a brilliant start, Gujarat's innings soon lost momentum. Washington Sundar managed only 2 runs, while Jos Buttler, despite expectations, fell for 16 runs, becoming a victim of Digvijay Singh. Sherfane Rutherford tried to steady the ship with 22 runs, but Rahul Tewatia couldn't score a single run.

In the 20th over, Shardul Thakur took two consecutive wickets, dashing Gujarat's hopes. Although the first shot of the final over was a six, he conceded only 11 runs thereafter and also claimed two wickets.

Lucknow's Comeback in Bowling

The discipline shown by Lucknow's bowlers in the middle overs was commendable. Digvijay Singh was the most economical, giving away 30 runs for 1 wicket in 4 overs. Shardul Thakur took 2 wickets, conceding 34 runs in 4 overs, while Ravi Bishnoi also picked up 2 crucial wickets. Avesh Khan also took 1 wicket for 32 runs in 4 overs. However, Aiden Markram proved expensive, leaking 15 runs in his only over.
