The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 Qualifiers, with all-rounder Fatima Sana appointed as captain.

Sports News: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced its team for the Women's World Cup 2025 Qualifiers. Fatima Sana has been given the captaincy responsibility for this tournament, while 19-year-old young batter Shwaly Zulfiqar has made a comeback to the team. Shwaly Zulfiqar had been out of the team for the past year due to a shoulder injury, but she is now fully fit and ready to return to the field.

Pakistan's Schedule in the Qualifiers

The Pakistan women's team will play its first match against Ireland on April 9th. Following this, the team will face Scotland on April 11th, the West Indies on April 14th, Thailand on April 17th, and Bangladesh on April 19th. This qualifier will be held in Lahore, Pakistan, giving the Pakistani team a home advantage.

A total of six teams are participating in this qualifier: Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, the West Indies, and Thailand. The top two teams will qualify for the World Cup 2025.

World Cup to be Held in India

If the Pakistan women's team qualifies for the World Cup through this tournament, the tournament may be held on a hybrid model. However, if Pakistan does not qualify, the entire World Cup will be held in India. Team captain Fatima Sana is currently participating in a special training camp where her fitness and form are being assessed. According to the PCB, the final squad will be decided based on the players' fitness and performance.

Besides India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka have already qualified for the Women's World Cup 2025. All eyes are now on the qualifying round, from which two teams will secure their place in this prestigious tournament.

Reserve players: Ghulam Fatima, Waheeda Akhtar, Umm-e-Hani.
