Suryakumar has joined the select group of Mumbai Indians players who have played 100 or more matches for the team. Before him, Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Harbhajan Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga, Ambati Rayudu, and Hardik Pandya have achieved this feat. Rohit Sharma has played the most matches for Mumbai, with 215 appearances to date.

He was also part of Mumbai Indians' championship-winning teams in 2019 and 2020. Prior to joining Mumbai Indians, he played for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
