Jammu-Kashmir: Two prominent Hurriyat factions in Jammu and Kashmir, the J&K People's Movement and the Democratic Political Movement, have announced their renunciation of separatism. Union Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed this move, describing it as a significant success in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pursuit of integration and peace.
Amit Shah's statement: The end of separatism in Kashmir
Amit Shah wrote on social media that separatism in Jammu and Kashmir is now a thing of the past. He stated that this is a victory for Prime Minister Modi's vision, who implemented several significant policies aimed at integrating Jammu and Kashmir and building a peaceful India. The Home Minister urged all groups to come forward, permanently end separatism, and further strengthen India's unity.
Mohammed Shafi Reshi's significant step
Meanwhile, Advocate Mohammed Shafi Reshi, another hardline separatist leader from Kashmir, also announced his disassociation from the Hurriyat Conference and the Democratic Political Movement. Expressing his faith in India's sovereignty and integrity, Reshi stated that he has no connection with any separatist organization. He also mentioned that he has distanced himself from separatist activities for the past seven years, having realized the true nature of these groups.
