A speeding Scorpio, returning from a wedding ceremony, lost control and collided with a divider, resulting in the immediate death of four people and serious injuries to five others. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital where their condition remains critical.
Accident During Return from Wedding
The wedding party was returning home around 2:00 AM. The Scorpio, carrying nine passengers, belonged to the wedding party of Abhishek Kumar, son of Chandan Mahto, a resident of Paharchhak in Begusarai's Mufassil police station area. The wedding took place in New Jaffar Nagar, under Sahebpur Kamal police station. The vehicle went out of control due to speeding and driver negligence, colliding with the divider.
Two Brothers Among the Deceased
Four young men died in the accident. The deceased have been identified as Ankit Kumar, Abhishek Kumar (both brothers), Saurabh Kumar, and Krishna Kumar. Satyam Kumar, Niranjan Kumar, Anshu Kumar, Golu Kumar, and Sujit Kumar sustained serious injuries. Begusarai's SDPO, Subodh Kumar, stated that preliminary investigations suggest the accident may have been caused by the driver falling asleep.
One of the injured told the police that they were returning from the wedding ceremony around 2:00 AM, and the accident occurred around 3:50 AM. It is believed that the driver fell asleep, causing the vehicle to lose control and collide with the divider. The entire village is in mourning following this accident. The death of two brothers from the same family has left their relatives devastated.
