Manipur Chief Minister Apologizes for Unrest, Aims for Peace in 2025

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh expressed his condolences regarding the ongoing turmoil and unrest in the state, stating, "I am truly regretful and I want to apologize." He expressed his hopes that the New Year of 2025 will restore normalcy and peace in the state.

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has publicly apologized for the violence and unrest that has been ongoing in the state for some time. He termed the year 2024 as unfortunate, stating that he deeply regrets the incidents that have occurred since May 3, 2023. He said, "I am truly regretful and I want to apologize." He expressed his hopes that the New Year of 2025 will restore normalcy and peace in the state.

Chief Minister Apologizes to the Public

The Chief Minister said, "This entire year has been very unfortunate. I am sorry and I want to apologize to the people of the state for everything that has happened since May 3rd. Many people have lost their loved ones, and many have left their homes. I am truly deeply saddened by this." He further stated that some progress has been made in the efforts to restore peace over the past few months, and he hopes that the New Year 2025 will bring back normalcy and peace to the state.

Appealing to all communities, CM Biren Singh said, "What has happened has happened. We must now forget past mistakes and start a new life. We need to work together to build a peaceful and prosperous Manipur."

Sharing statistics related to the violence in Manipur and the government's efforts, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that around 200 people have been killed so far, and approximately 12,247 FIRs have been registered during this period. He further stated that 625 accused have been arrested, and security forces have recovered around 5,600 weapons and 35,000 rounds of ammunition, including explosive materials.

The Chief Minister also clarified that the central government has taken all necessary steps to bring the situation under control and help the affected people. He said, "The central government has provided adequate security personnel and financial assistance to help displaced families. Sufficient funds have also been provided for the construction of new homes for displaced persons."
