On Monday afternoon, jewelry worth over 25 crore rupees was looted from a Tanishq showroom located at Gopali Chowk within the Nagar police station area. Six to eight armed criminals executed the heist in just 20 minutes before escaping.
Patna: A daylight robbery exceeding 25 crore rupees took place at a Tanishq showroom in Arrah, Gopali Chowk, Bhojpur district, Bihar. The robbers held security personnel and employees captive, even assaulting a sales employee who protested. The criminals, without masks, looted the showroom and escaped on motorcycles. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras. Police have launched a district-wide search and investigation, urging for the swift arrest of the perpetrators.
Employees Terrorized by Gunfire and Panic
Eyewitnesses reported that two criminals, posing as customers, entered the showroom upon opening and immediately restrained the security guard. Other criminals then entered, holding employees at gunpoint. When a sales employee protested during questioning about the jewelry, the assailants struck him with the butt of a gun.
Daring Criminals, Unmasked, and a Planned Heist
The robbers displayed remarkable audacity, none bothering to conceal their faces. They calmly collected gold and diamond jewelry from the store and escaped on motorcycles in various directions. The entire incident was recorded by the showroom's CCTV cameras. Police have seized the CCTV footage and launched a district-wide manhunt. Police sources indicate some criminals were seen fleeing towards Chapra.

Kumar Mrityunjay, the showroom manager, stated that the store contained approximately 50 crore rupees worth of jewelry, with over 25 crore rupees being looted. Over 25 employees were present during the robbery. The recent increase in crime in Bihar, coupled with this significant robbery, raises serious questions about the state's law and order situation. This presents a major challenge for the police. Currently, extensive searches are underway, and special teams have been formed to apprehend the criminals.
