Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal Protest Attack on Hanuman Jayanti Procession in Guna
MP News: In Guna district of Madhya Pradesh, a stone-pelting attack on a Hanuman Jayanti procession created tension in the area. In protest, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal workers took to the streets to demonstrate. The protestors demanded immediate action against the accused and called for the demolition of their houses using bulldozers.
Strong Protest by Demonstrators
The protestors planned to submit a memorandum to the Collector's office demanding strict action against the accused. They insisted on the immediate arrest of the accused and the demolition of their homes. When the protestors attempted to re-enter Colonelganj, the police dispersed them. Following this, they returned to the Collector's office and submitted their memorandum.
Lathi Charge Incident
Seeing the growing momentum of the protest, the police resorted to a lathi charge to control the situation. A standoff between protestors and police ensued for approximately 15 minutes. The police dispersed the crowd and brought the demonstration to an end.
Heavy Police Deployment in Town
Due to the tense situation in Guna, a heavy police force has been deployed to maintain peace. The administration has taken all necessary steps to preserve law and order.
Aftermath of the Attack
In the attack on the Hanuman Jayanti procession, one person, Rajat Gwal, sustained a gunshot wound. Police have assured action in this matter. According to the police complaint, a dispute arose over the removal of a DJ, during which Ameen Pathan allegedly shot Rajat. Rajat was subsequently assaulted with sticks and lathis. Other devotees also suffered injuries from lathis and stones.
