Immediately following the Delhi results, Punjab's political landscape was thrown into turmoil. The Congress claimed that following the Delhi loss, Arvind Kejriwal would now become more active in Punjab's politics.
Kejriwal's Meeting with Punjab MLAs
On Tuesday, Arvind Kejriwal convened a meeting of Punjab MLAs at Kapurthala House in Delhi, where he discussed matters with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and other legislators. This meeting sparked several rumors in Punjab's political circles.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa Accuses Kejriwal of Spreading Discontent
Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the BJP candidate who won from Delhi's Rajouri Assembly seat, targeted Arvind Kejriwal. He alleged that Kejriwal is attempting to spread discontent in Punjab and that his real aim is to weaken Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's leadership. Sirsa stated that Kejriwal's objective is to become the Chief Minister of Punjab, particularly by portraying Mann's leadership as ineffective on issues such as drugs and corruption.
Comments on Kejriwal's Alleged Corruption
Sirsa also responded to Delhi BJP chief Virender Sachdeva's comments on the Sheesh Mahal, stating that exposing the extravagant spending on the property would reveal Arvind Kejriwal's corruption.
AAP MP Malvinder Kang's Statement
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party MP Malvinder Singh Kang responded to the meeting. He stated that the meeting was held to discuss the Delhi elections and formulate future strategies. Kang said, "Arvind Kejriwal is our national convener, and such meetings are held regularly."
